Welcome Reception
The conference will open on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Faculty of Geodesy, Kačićeva 26, Zagreb.
Registration will begin at 14:00, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 16:30.
After the Opening Ceremony, all participants are warmly invited to join the Welcome Reception, which will provide an opportunity to meet colleagues and friends from around the world in an informal setting before the start of the scientific programme.
We look forward to welcoming you to Zagreb and to ICGG 2026.
Excursion
All participants whose registration includes the excursion programme are kindly requested to select only one of the excursions listed below, as all excursions take place simultaneously on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Excursion 1 (Krapina Neanderthal Museum, Trakošćan Castle)
The excursion begins with a visit to the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, one of the most modern museums in Croatia, where visitors will learn about the life of Neanderthals and the rich prehistoric heritage of Krapina through engaging multimedia exhibits.
The journey then continues to Trakošćan Castle, one of the most beautiful and famous castles in Croatia, located in the picturesque landscape of the Hrvatsko Zagorje region. With a guided tour, visitors will explore the castle’s elegant halls, permanent museum exhibition, and beautiful park surrounding the lake.
This excursion offers a perfect combination of education, culture, and natural beauty.
Excursion 2 (Veliki Tabor Castle, Old Village Museum Kumrovec, Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec)
This excursion begins with a bus ride from Zagreb to Veliki Tabor Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Croatia. Visitors will explore its rich history, impressive architecture, and fascinating legends while enjoying beautiful views of the Zagorje region.
The journey continues by bus to The Old Village Museum Kumrovec, an open-air ethnographic museum that presents traditional village life and customs of the 19th century. Guests will have the opportunity to discover authentic rural houses, workshops, and cultural heritage of the Croatian countryside.
The final stop is Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec, dedicated to the renowned Croatian sculptor Antun Augustinčić. Visitors will explore a valuable collection of sculptures and artworks before returning by bus to Zagreb.
This excursion combines history, culture, art, and nature, offering a memorable experience for all participants.
